Upcoming FRG events
Hello everyone, my name is Ashley Randall and I am one of the leads for the FRG for Alpha Co 161. I have just received most of your emails from the soldiers. We are working on finalizing the phone tree, but until then we are communicating via email. I wanted to inform all of you of some upcoming events. I do realize that some of you are not local and even out of state, but I do want to keep you all informed of events and information about the unit.
First of all the soldiers will be arriving back from Yakima on the 7th of August at about 3:00pm. Myself and others will be at the armory in Kent with a "treats table" for the soldiers. There will be about 130 soldiers and therefore if you would like to contribute and help out please let me know! With the number of soldiers I figure we can make cookies, brownies, or get the Little Debbies and cut them in quarters to accommodate everyone. Also there will be lemonade, but we could always use more beverages and food. We will be arriving at the armory at 2:00 to set up outside where be had the BBQ in June. For those of you that live near Yakima there will be a yellow ribbon sendoff for the soldiers (see attached flier) on the 7th in the morning. Please attend if interested.
Also there will be a departure ceremony on August 19th at 2:00pm at the Kent armory. Details have yet to be determined, but I do know that we need to provide decorations, cake and ice cream and possibly some music. If you would like to help with this as well please let me know. Also after the soldiers arrive back on the 7th they will need to go back to the armory on the 8th for a few hours. From then on they are "free". They will have to report back on the 18th and will be on lock down from then on (meaning they have to remain within a 50 mile radius of the Kent armory).
Myself and the other leads are in the process of planning our first meeting which will be held in September, but we are also in the process of finalizing our own FRG website that we will be updating on a daily basis with information from the meetings for those of you who are unable to attend along with other valuable resources. We will let you know when that will be available to you.
In the meantime if you have any questions/concerns or if you would like to help out at any of the events listed above please let me know. Thank you everyone for your patience and support.

Welcome!
This has been long in the making. But finally A Co. 1-161 has their web site! We figured this would be the easiest way to keep in contact with our very spread out group. We will use this site to relay information regaurding, first and foremost, our soldiers, but also meeting times and important information. Please feel free to leave comments or contact us with any questions or suggestions you may have to make this the most succesful FRG group possible. We look forward to hearing from everyone!
Thank you from your FRG leaders,
Ashley Randall
